Mount Huangshan
Yellow Mountain
The Mount Huangshan, the yellow Mountain is in the south of Anhui Province. The sectacular landscape is well known for its scenery, sunsets, peculiarly - shaped granite peaks - including 72 outstanding ones, Huangshan Pine trees and views of the cloud from above. The Loutus Peak with an elevation of 1,864 metre, is the highest peak of the mountain. Surrounded by a group of lower peaks, it looks like a lotous flower in full bloom. From the top of the peak you can habve a panoramic view of Huangshan. Tourist can also find more than 200 pavilions, towers, temples and cliff-side carvings in Mount Huangshan.
In the western part of the arear, there is a huge pear - shaped rock, 10 metre high (Feilaishi), standing totteringly on top of the peak. The bottom of the rock is so separated from the ground that it looks as if it had fallen from the sky. The Paiyunting Pavilion (Cloud dispelling Pavilion) with good views of the rocky valley below - the most beautiful place in the evening twilight. At the Beginning-to Believe Peak (Shixin Feng) grew the most beautiful pines.
The Shizi Feng, called Lion's Peak offers a look at the bizzare rock "A monkey sees the sea". Below the Qingliangtai (Refreshing terrace), a brilliant place to see the sunrise.
The Mount Huangshan was included in the wolrd heritage list as a natural and cultural heritage by the UNESCO.
